\n Magyars conquered the country. This is proved by archeological<\/span>
\n findings of skull bones. To increase the dog\u2019s speed the breed was<\/span>
\n crossed with different sighthound breeds in the 19th century.<\/span><\/p>\n
\n bone structure and musculature very strongly developed. Elegant.<\/span><\/p>\n
\n \u2022 The length of the body sligthly exceeds the height at the withers.<\/span>
\n \u2022 The length of the muzzle is approximately half of the length of<\/span>
\n the head.<\/span><\/p>\n
\n tough and robust. Excellent on the race-course; he is on some<\/span>
\n distances faster than the Greyhound.<\/span>
\n Somewhat reserved by nature, but not shy, sensible, intelligent and<\/span>
\n faithful. He is watchful; his instinct to protect people and their<\/span>
\n houses and property is developed, yet he is not aggressive or vicious.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n CRANIAL REGION<\/span>
\n Skull: Moderately strong, broad; the forehead fairly wide.<\/span>
\n Stop: Pronounced.<\/span>
\n FACIAL REGION<\/span>
\n Nose: Relatively large, well pigmented; with large, wide open<\/span>
\n nostrils.<\/span>
\n Muzzle: Strong, elongated, not too pointed.<\/span>
\n Lips: Close-fitting, tight, well pigmented.<\/span>
\n Jaws\/Teeth: Jaws powerful, strong; well developed, strong and<\/span>
\n complete scissor bite, according to the dentition formula.<\/span>
\n Cheeks: Strong, muscular.<\/span>
\n Eyes: Of medium size, dark. Neither deep-set nor protruding. The<\/span>
\n expression is keen and intelligent.<\/span>
\n Ears: Rather large; their texture is distinctly thick; set on at medium<\/span>
\n height, well carried rose ears clinging to the neck. When the dog is<\/span>
\n alert, they are raised up. The heavier ears are more desirable than the<\/span>
\n light ears. Permanently pricked ears are faulty.<\/span><\/p>\n
\n Back: Broad, straight, firm, very well muscled.<\/span>
\n Loin: Very broad, straight, strongly muscled.<\/span>
\n Croup: Broad, slightly sloping, strongly muscled.<\/span>
\n Chest: Brisket deep and distinctly rounded for providing adequate<\/span>
\n room for the heart and the big lungs. Ribs well arched, extending far<\/span>
\n back.<\/span>
\n Belly: Moderately tucked up.<\/span><\/p>\n
\n moderately, slightly bent, reaching to the hocks. The underside is<\/span>
\n covered with wiry hair. In repose carried hanging down; in action it<\/span>
\n may be raised up to the level of the topline.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n and the side, they are straight and parallel.<\/span>
\n Shoulders: Shoulder blade moderately oblique, mobile, muscular,<\/span>

\n Upper arm: Long, slightly slanting, muscular.<\/span>
\n Elbows: Fitting flexibly to the chest, mobile, neither turned in nor<\/span>
\n out.<\/span>
\n Forearm: Long, straight, of strong bone structure and with lean<\/span>
\n muscles.<\/span>
\n Pastern joint: Broad and strong.<\/span>
\n Pastern: Short and vertical.<\/span>
\n Forefeet: Relatively big, elongated; strong pads; strong nails kept<\/span>
\n short.<\/span><\/p>\n
\n General appearance : Hind legs well angulated, though not<\/span>
\n excessively so; strongly muscled, with plenty of bone. Seen from<\/span>
\n behind, standing parallel.<\/span>
\n Upper thigh: Powerfully muscled, with muscles rather longish in<\/span>
\n shape.<\/span>
\n Stifle : Moderately angulated, strong, neither turned in nor out.<\/span>
\n Lower thigh: Long, with lean muscles.<\/span>
\n Hock joint: Strong, well let down.<\/span>
\n Metatarsus: Viewed from behind parallel, when standing and<\/span>
\n moving.<\/span>
\n Hind feet: Relatively large, slightly elongated, with strong pads and<\/span>
\n nails.<\/span><\/p>\n
\n front and behind the limbs move in parallel planes.<\/span><\/p>\n
\n amount of dense undercoat may develop.<\/span>
\n COLOUR: All colours and combinations known in sighthounds are<\/span>
\n admitted, except the colours or colour-combinations mentioned as<\/span>
\n \u201cEliminating faults\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n
\n Ideal height at withers for dogs: 65 to 70 cm.<\/span>
\n Ideal height at withers for bitches : 62 to 67 cm.<\/span>
\n The size measured in centimetres at the withers is less important than<\/span>
\n the overall balance of the dog.<\/span><\/p>\n
\n considered a fault and the seriousness with which the fault should be<\/span>
\n regarded should be in exact proportion to its degree and its effect<\/span>
\n upon the health and welfare of the dog.<\/span><\/p>\n
\n \u2022 Aggressive or overly shy.<\/span>
\n \u2022 Any dog clearly showing physical or behavioural<\/span>
\n abnormalities shall be disqualified.<\/span>
\n \u2022 Atypical head.<\/span>
\n \u2022 Undershot or overshot mouth, wry mouth.<\/span>
\n \u2022 One or more missing incisors or canines or premolars 2-4 or<\/span>
\n molars 1-2. More than two PM1 missing. The M3 are<\/span>
\n disregarded.<\/span>
\n \u2022 Entropion, Ectropion.<\/span>
\n \u2022 Colours: blue, blue-white, brown, wolf-grey, black and tan;<\/span>
